The Art Competition:
The Ultimate RPG art competition
When Canis awoke the agonising pain in hi spine had increased, and he felt fresh blood beginning to clot...the gaurds had been flogging him again...he felt so weak, so drained...help
less and he knew the port, would not want to keep a werewolf too long...the crowd such an execution would bring...the leaders would use it as a chance to get support, pickpockets and thieves would pick many pockets, and the crowd would get a good time...
Canis felt lost and the pain was horrifying...he tried to lift his arms, but they wouldnt move...his whole body was utterly lifeless and he knew he was going to die a dishonourable death...
The disguised goddess watched the dog-man's spirits and strength slowly fading. She had been wrong again about an entertaining execution...He would just let himself be dragged up there and die. Pathetic.
Well. She was going to make this more fun. She closed her eyes - concentrating on healing the wolf's wounds so that only a faint reminder of pain would remain. She sent suggestive, spiralling waves of hatred and anger and violence towards the dog and filled him up with bloodlust and the need for vengence. Pleased with her work, she sat back and waited for the fun to begin.
The pain in Canis' body began to dissipate...he could move his legs, his hands his head..."This is strange" he thought...Suddenly he felt angry...he suddenly had an overwhelming desire to slaughter...slaughter the gaurds, rip all those people who had laughed...devour the child who had hung the sign around his neck...His hackles rose and he began to pull at the chains...tearing their foundations from the wall.
Canis chewed at the chains binding his wrists, his powerful jaws tearing them to shreds of metal...then he moved to the bars...
The gaurds who performed their horrid task on the wolf-man were preparing their whips...sharpening the tips for even deeper gouges. They never knew what hit them...Canis leapt on them, ripping their flesh from their bones, and biting off limbs...when the group was devoured, Canis loped through the dungeon, killing all that he met on the way, prisoners, gaurds and visitors, until he came to the heavy oak gate that secured the keep...he began to claw at it, knaw at it until he had successfully made a hole, large enough for him to push through...
Safely out of the gaol...Canis began to prowl towards the dark houses..
After paying for his drink Elariel finally followed Kera from the Inn, to look for where she had gone to. Mya returned to his shoulder as he left.
There was nothing before him, like he had thought there should be. Silently he moved through the town, sensing about with his empathy, what little he had.
He kept quiet. Despite all his years among humans learning from them he still did not like many of their habits and treatment of others, including himself. He kept to himself his lineage, that he was from one of the high elf families to the west, in the deep forests there. He had learned over his many years alive to tolerate most anything, even if it meant keeping silent.
This Canis, the werewolf, seemed sincere to him, completely different than he had originally thought.
He stayed outside in the cool night air, looking now for Kera as well as Canis. He sighed, and leaned against a wall in shadow, waiting..
The elf waited a while, seemingly unperturbed by the cold night air and the fact that he was outside among the elements. Then, a sound came to his ears at the same moment he felt the emotions of pain, fear and death. He muttered something under his breath, and hurried silently to the sound...
Hatita watched the proceedings from the rooftops of the city. She laughed and clapped her hands with mirth. *oh this is about to get so good* she she thought happily to herself. *Elariel, just around the corner from the blood-thirsty Canis* - this was going to be very exciting indeed... She summoned a wind down into the streets of Fealor. A wind that blew the scent of the Elf towards the rampaging warewolf...
Without a sound Mya had taken to the air. flying up above the streets to allight on an old sign there, above the streets enough to let him view the area.
"Mya, what do you see.." he called to her, using his bond to her.
Mya cocked her head, looking about. She did not see the werewolf, just the people in the streets. She reported this silently back to Elariel.
"Stay there then, Mya.." he returned to her..
Canis caught the scent of the elf on the sudden gust of wind...a small part of him wanted to stop...."cease this madness now!" it cried, but his bloodthirst had taken over him completely, and he began to lope towards the elf...his blue eyes burning with malice...
Hatita shreiked with delight! come on!!!! she silently willed the wolf.
Canis rounded a corner and saw the elf...he had his back to him, no spells this time! The werewolf got closer...in a silent run that barely connected with the cobbles. He pounced on the elf...
Too late, Elariel felt the presence of the werewolf, turning bearly in time to miss his fangs. Then he saw the eyes...
"CANIS WAKE UP!" he shouted, fear in his voice. He had been on this end of a werewolf before, and he did not like it at all. His cloak pulled back, he felt claws against his side, tearing at his flesh. He gave a cry of pain, finally hissing out the words to a spell. "Sak'wen Ka Bint!!" The spell formed around the claws there at his side, binding them long enough for Elariel to pull away.
He jumped fast and away, far enough from Canis to look him over. He took his longsword and pulled it, holding it before him in defense. He gasped for air, keeping his eyes on the werewolf. The wound in his side bled, darkening his shirt with the color of crimson.
"Canis!! Dont make me kill you!!" he shouted again, mustereing the strength to cast another shield, this time over himself. HIs heart was pumping fast in his chest, his vision blurring slightly. 'Oh Light, he got me good...' he thought frantically, remaining aware.
Hatita slumped back, disappointed, she'd thought the werewolf was made of sterner stuff. she wiped the elf''s sheild away, shattered his longsword with a deafening shriek of her voice and healed his wounds a little. Bloodsport was always so much more interesting what the victim could run...
Canis stared at the elf...he blinked a few times...the fire inside his soul was beginning to fade and his wounds were reopening again. He staggered forward a few paces and faintly growled "forgive me" before he toppled over and lost all grip with consciousness...
His shield shattered, his sword useless, Elariel remembered all the fear he had suffered before. he thought he had gotten past what that last incident had done to him, but now..
"Canis.." Elariel gasped at Canis' words, pain filling his side once more. He tried to stay on his feet, but holding his side he could feel the warm blood flowing over his hand, and he fell to his knees.. "Mmn.. Oh no..." he sighed. He called to Mya, bearly a whisper, and at once she came. "Go.. find help.. quickly Mya.." he breathed. Blood trickled from his nose...
Hatita looked down at her own little chaos she'd created. How petty it was. She saw the elf drowning in his blood and saw the face beneath the crimson streams. She gasped. His bird took off from his side and flew past her head. Looking unstable among the thermals.
The helpess elf lay gasping for breath. This was her doing. She normally enjoyed tragedy, why now, did she feel so anguished. She looked again at the elf's face and understood why.
She jumped down from the rooftops and landed steadily on the cobbled streets, she crouched over the elf. Ignoring the strange glances from passers by. She placed her hands over his chest and sent a glow of warmth and love and goodness into his body. she knew she was going to regret this later....
A small girl about the size of a seven year old aproaches the gate of Fealor and looks up. Her name is Lila Dancing Star and she is a halfling. She goes to the gate and knocks three loud times but no one answers. she is frightened by what might lie on the other side so she sits on the side of the road and waits for someone to answer her call.
"I hope that some one answers soon. I am so tired and hungry," she says to her cat which is now sitting on her lap. she never goes anywere without her cat and it never leaves her side. he is sort of her gardian angel, her protector.
Elariel concentrated on breathing, it was becoming more difficult with the passage of time. He was vaguely aware of the hands on his chest.
"Help.." he managed, bearly..
Kera tilted ehr head and snifed the air and shoke her in dislike "blood." she walked towwards the sorce and raised an eyeborw at what see had seen and sighed calmly looking around
Mya had flown back to where they had been before, the Inn. Finding no one there she remembered she took to the air again, looking about and using her senses..
She spotted the drow, remembered her sweet words and offer to buy food, and at once flew to her. SHe did not land on her shoulder, rather, she landed on the ground before her, casting a quick glance at her Master, leaning towards a woman who was touching her hands to him.
She looked back at Kera, giving a sad little cry, fluttering her wings as she shifted from one clawed foot to the other. Then she eyed the fallen werewolf, and boldly nudged at Kera's boot, showing her that perhaps she should see to that one...
Kera noded and and walked over to the passed out werewolf and knelt next to him looking at him before placeing her hands on his chest gently closeing ehr eyes mummbleing a prayer to her goddess opening her eyes which now glow a light bluseish color as she channels her energy threw the werewolf before backing away "his has been tampered with."
Mya flew back over, landed between the two, closer to her master. She saw his discomfort and pain, and she ambled closer, looking intently at the one who was trying to save Elariel.
Elariel grimaced, his grip on his side strong, as if willing the torn wound in his side to close. He tried to speak, but coughed as he felt his throat close..
Kera wacthed the women senceing something strange about something she did not like she sat indain style next to the werewolf keeping her mind blank from all thoughts shakeing her head slightly looking at canis with sadness shutting her eyes letting ehr magic coll itself opening her eyes minutes later her eyes back to thier silver color as she sits there with a perfectly look on her face
Canis was aware of the activity around him...even though he was in a state of unconsiousness...he felt the drow, the elf "that wound...did I do that?" and someone else...something else of great power was doing something to the elf...
Canis willed his mind awake...he kept telling himself to wake up...WAKE UP!
Kera placed a hand on Canis's chest and gives him some more of ehr enerfy to help his struggle still keeping a calm emotionless face while doing this
Canis felt a rush of energy enter his body...his mind strengthened and he began to wake...
He awoke...clambered to his feet and although his balance wavered...managed to stay stood up...The wounds in his back began to pour fresh blood as he stood and cracked the clotted blood...he howled in pain...but was not overwhelmed by it...he felt revived and strong...He turned to the drow..."Thank you" he said, a hint of surprise on his features...
Kera noded letitng the arua around her die out "you were tampered with Canis." she gets up looking at the women and the male elf.
Canis turned his head and looked at the two figures...the woman was doing something to the elf...light was pouring from her hands into his chest...Canis saw the blood on the road, it was pouring from a gash in the elf's side...
"Oh by the gods what have I done" he growled to the drow...
Kera stode up and looked a canis "one some one messed you bloodlust uo my friend." she glanced at the women not trusting her at all "thats what made you freak like you did."
Canis felt the drow's mistrust...he also shared it, though he felt compelled to simply watch what the woman was doing to the elf....on most occasions he would have jumped on her and puleld her away from the body of the elf...but this time...he didn't, he couldn't.
Kera brushed her cloak off "well my task is done here." she turnt and walked away leaving the group behind
Canis watched the drow walk away...he felt he should do the same...but he needed to find out what was happening...he needed to know who this woman was....if the elf would survive...
The werewolf stood there, watching the two creatures, blood pouring down his back and beginning to mix with the blood of the elf...the pain was unbearable...he was soaked in it, suffocated by it, but he knew he couldn't die...not until he found out what was to become of the elf. Canis held on to reality...forcing himself to remain awake...he knew that slipping into sleep would mean that he would never wake up...
Kera walked away to her job was done the other healer will take care of him she walked away calm and cold as if nothing had happened or even cought her attention
Death was beginning to grip Canis...he could feel the ice in the pit of his stomach..."I have to stay awake...stay alive" he mumbled into the still air. Blood was beginning to trickle from his mouth and drip onto the road as he breathed, his throat was burning...his mind racing. He recalled the events of earlier...he had slaughtered the gaurds...devoured their bodies. He had killed almost everyone in the gaol and now he had killed the elf...he smiled grimly..."bit overactive weren't you Canis...your rampage has split your wounds and has condemned you to eternal damnation" He knew that after his death he could not expect an eternal paradise...
Kera paused adn looked back senceing something wrong again she calmly walked back to werewolf and looked at him oushed down down and placeing ehr ahnds over his heart muumering the words of her strongest healing speel her arua sorrounding every one around them as she focuses on the werewolf's wounds.
Canis felt the drow push lightly on his chest and begun to feel waves of warmth rush through his body to his injuries...they began to close...his wounds ceased to bleed and the flesh pressed together. forming scars that looked like they had been there for years...he no longer felt death's icy hand on his shoulders...he looked down at the drow...
Kera still kept up with her spell helping anyone with in her arua she opened her eyes which blazed blue once more
<Canis felt so USED...a drow, one of his most hated enemies had saved his life...he had gone on a hideous rampage...though he had no idea what had caused his sudden rush of anger...he had felt to downtrodden to build up enough rage for such a slaughter...somebody had caused it...and he had suspicions as to who...he glared at the woman over the elf and, fighting his initial instincts began to advance upon her, fangs bared and claws ready...
Kera placed a hand on hisa rm and shoke her head knowing what he wanted to do she too did not trust the strange women before then she should no trust in her gaze as she wachted if this healer failed Kera will not be happy
Canis felt the drows hand on his arm as he advanced. He stopped. He would wait...but if this woman failed...he would kill her. He knew that it was her who had sent him on that bloody rampage...he sensed it about her...
Kera squeezed his arm a gently sign to tell him not to move or attack
Canis obeyed the drow...he didn't move or speak...he growled in the direction of the woman, but did nothing else...
Kera patted his arm gently and wacthed the women something about her felt wring this made Kera uncomfortable but she did not show it
Hatita with her hands still pushing into the elfs chest felt him slipping away. She increased the flow of warm, loving light into him yet he remain passive, icy. *No!* she screamed inwardly. *This could not happen...but why did she care?* she felt him slip away further into death. she looked into his face and again realised why. She lent over him and pushed her lips hard onto his. she felt the life and power flowing from her to him and she knew she had been right...
Elariel had only been aware of voices around him, feeling phantom hands on his chest. He did not like to feel death, he had felt it all once before and it terrified him, but slowly the veil of that sleep was starting to creep over him..
THen he felt another's lips on his, in a kiss of sorts. From that kiss came power, enough to find his wound. Then the pain increased slightly, drawing a gasp from him, feeling the flesh in his side trying to fix itself. His eyes flew open involuntarily, seeing the woman before him..
"A.. healer..?" he thought. He flinched at the pain, but it was getting easier to deal with...
Beneath hers hatita felt his lips beginning to warm. The bluish tine which had lingered across his body now tinged a healthier pink. His wounds were no longer leaking blood. The bleeding had stemmed. No longer healing him hatita pressed herself into him, drinking him in...what am i doing? she panicked, yet she could not let go....
Stunned, Elariel at first stayed as he was, feeling the discomfort as he felt his wound knit. Gradually it stopped, but still he felt her against his face. He had not been this close to another in many long years, there was something different about this one.. SHe was human and yet..
He shifted but pain flashed through his side, not the same pain as before but still pain. He was going to need to mend a little more, but this woman had just saved his life. For a singular moment he let the kiss continue, but then his side protested and he broke it, leaning back a little bit..
"Who.. " he gasped. His hand was still crimson, his clothing torn and ruined.. Mya stood before him, and he smiled slightly.
Hatita climbed off elariel and looked down at him.
"Forgive me." she whispered and turned to leave. ignoring the dying Canis.
"Wait a moment!" Elariel said, grimacing. "Dont leave, stay.." He tried to climb back to his feet, but they were shaky and his legs refused to hold him up. He looked at Canis, a momentary flash of fear flickered there before he masked it. "Canis, you should change back.. You need healing.."
he looked at the woman. "You just saved my life.. Are you a healer? Who are you??"
"you dont want to know" she smiled grimly.
"I am a healer of sorts...you could say that." she glanced down at the wolf and wrought a healing spell around him."He should be fine in a day or two. I-i i have to go." she stuttered, unable to meet his intent gaze. She again turned to leave.
Elariel watched her a moment.. Such a strange woman, something about her made him want to follow..
He groaned in pain when he tried to rise, so he sat back down, letting the pain settle. He watched helplessly as she walked away.
"Thank you.." he sighed.
He looked at Canis briefly, then averted his eyes back to the ground. "You should go and hide.. The guards should not find you.. Just go, you both know where I will be.. As soon as I can manage I am going back to that inn... I need to rest, as do you.."
He looked at Canis pointedly. "if someone is messing with you, it is best you hide.."
He looked around for the woman. He had wanted to say more to her, but she was gone...
"Damn.." he cursed in elven..
Canis listened to the elf...saying nothing, he turned away from him and began to slowly wonder down the street in the opposite direction...he knew he should try and help...but the evenings events and strange occurances left him feeling confused and disorientated.
Canis found a small, mucky inn, one that was almost certainly filled with cutthroats and brigands...people like him, who were running from the law...
In human form now (he had stolen some clothes off of a nearby wash-line) he staggered into the inn...Inside, the inn was flooded in a grim, brown light, while men (and women) all sat around rotting tables drinking mouldy glasses of mead...No-one payed attention to the stranger who wandered in, with his too-small clothes and weathered appearance...Canis traipsed up to the bar and sat on a miserable little stool, and for the first time in his life said "give me a drink"...
Elariel watched him go, he felt bad for that one. He looked around, and finally got up the nerve to stand back up, though it brought pain. With a grimace he brought his cloak back into place, hiding much of his bloodstained clothing. He resisted the urge to sit back down, leaving his broken sword on the ground where he had been.
"Just take me back to the Inn, Mya.." he whispered, as the falcon returned to his shoulder. He used a wall to steady himself. "A few days.." he murmered in elven. "Better than last time, I guess.."
Hatita sat in a grotty little inn downtown. She watched the theives and beggars move around the dingy fetid room. She sat on a barstool over a pint of filthy human drink and felt numb. She saw the Wolfman enter. but could not care less. she just felt empty and cold inside.
Canis was on his 19th mead...he was dimly aware that he was causing a crowd to gather...he was aware of himself singing and dancing to non-existent music...he was laughing his barking laugh...
The inn was now gathering around the drunk werewolf, their opinions on him had changed dramatically over the course of a few minutes, the quiet stranger had only needed a few drinks before he became a comedian! They heard him laugh...laughed with him...at him...this man was going to be the talk of the town in more ways than one on the morrow....
Elariel could hear the sounds of levity coming out onto the street. He was curious, but a throb at his side reminded him he needed to keep moving..
The inn he had been at before was not far away, so he went as calmly as he could to it, ignoring some of the interesting stares he was getting. Finally he found himself at the door, and entered, sitting by the door to rest a moment.
Who was that woman.. Her eyes, were so sad.. he thought. I hope Canis is alright this night... and I left Kera behind..
He kept the cloak close about him, getting up to find the woman who was there earlier. A room, and a bath would be needed, he knew.. He needed to fix his clothing..
Kera blinked and shruged gathering her pack sliging across her back as she headed for the gates of the city drinking a vile of blood before she walked off
The still numb Hatita stared down at the human brew. the wolfman was making a complete ass off himself. he was going to get caught again....she hadnt wasted that healing spell for nothing. She stood up and dragged him out by the scruff of his neck. out of the bar along the streets to behind the inn she had created. She knew they were safe there, she had created it. Only she knew it existed. she threw a glass of water over him and he appeared to sober up a bit.
"look. You stay here! ok? or your going to end up back into the goal, get it? lie low here. its safe." She could see he was in no fit state to be left alone, and if she stayed she might see the Elf again...though she could not face him in person...she was a goddess why should she fall for a common elf? get a grip she willed herself. But she still felt numb as she curled up next to a dustbin near the wearwolf.
Kera stopt and gave a street child some money for her family as she walked along the raods heading to the gates now that she ahd vistied this city she did not find it to her likeing she shoke her head and kept walking on ward
Having been sitting alone infront of the gate for more than an hour Lila Dancing Star grew impatient with this town. if someone did not answer soon she would have to move onto another town.
Kera made her way to the gates silently looking about the walls of the city and studying its poeple she was going home if it was still standing
Impatient with the town Lila opened the gate only to see a girl walking toward her. the girl appeared to be leaving the town. lila walked up to her to see if she new anything about the town.
kera looked up at the younge girl her face still holding no emotion but her eyes held no time for talk
Hatita still brooding, dozed next to the gently hiccupping werewolf. She awoke sensing activity at the gates. She closed her eyes and looked towards the cities enterance. Two young women had met at the gate. She recognised one as the little drow, Kera. no, she cannot leave...she IS needed here she looked down at the sleeping Canis and thought how much easier this would be with Kera here. She send out whispers to kera. Stay...please stay a while...Canis...stay...you are needed here...please stay...
Hatita sighed and went back to brooding over Elariel...
Elariel sat down near where he had sat before, taken the offered wine. he was feeling a little better, but the ache was still there. He did not notice others as they came and went, just focused on Mya with him.
A server noted the red of his clothing, and catching his attention she asked him.
"Are you alright?" she asked. She started to lift up the cloak, but Elariel stopped her, masking the grimace as he did.
"I just need a room please..." he whispered, politely, quietly. There was a slight sweat at his brow.. "I just need to rest..."
Kera hears the whispers and tilts her head to the side and sighs "fine i'll stay."
She could sense Elariel in the inn. She could sense the pain that still lingered in his side. She cursed herself for being so instinctive. she should never have touched him but she longed to go inside and heal his pain...
The girl eyed him suspiciously. She could see the pain on his features, the blood at the fringes of his cloak, the sweat on his brow.
"You should be careful in this place." she said in a low voice. "You are fortunate to still be breathing, if that wound you are harboring is still open.."
"Just a room.." Elariel's musical voice was a little harsher than it was before. "I'll be fine.."
She eyed him for a few quiet seconds, then nodded to him.
"A few minutes then, if you please, Master Elf." she looked down as she spoke. She didnt wait for an answer, just hurried away to her duties..
Elariel felt bad for being harsh with her. He knew she meant well in her words, but all he wanted at the moment was a room and a bed to rest in..
He jumped when he felt Mya nudge his hand with her beak. "As soon as we get to the room, Mya, more treats for you.." he said quietly in elven..
Kera sighed and shok her head and sighed she was going to need to feed soon or go crazy
Finally the girl came back for him, and by that time Elariel had finished the wine he had gotten. He swallowed it more quietly than he thought, but it did not matter. Carefully he stood back up, letting Mya get back on his shoulder as he kept his cloak over his side.
"You might want that looked at.." the girl said, stopped at the door to the room. Elariel shook his head at her, pushing into her hands enough to pay for the room, the drink, and a little for her.
"I will be fine.." he sighed, entering the room and closing it behind him.
It was up off the main floor in the second story, the window partway open. As Elariel bolted the door behind him and locked the window, Mya happily flew to sit on a stand by the bed, dipping her beak in the large bowl of water there. At last Elariel smiled a bit, but it was a pained one. Carefully he took off the cloak, letting it drop to the floor with his bow, and with some effort he pulled the shirt off, laying it aside as he looked down to assess the damage. The wound was closed, the skin red and tender, deep bruises showing around the edges. He grimaced at it, allowing his small pack to hit the floor as well..
He washed up, cleaning the blood from his skin, flinched as he touched tender flesh. He changed to his second set of clothing, and lay in the bed, his blond hair free of its braid. While Mya ate contentedly, he lay there and rested..
Soon he had fallen asleep..
Kera lookeda t the younge girl and noded slightly looking for any prey to feed from she sighed and kept hidden under her cloak's hood feeling weak from not feeding enough but this city has poor taste
When Canis awoke he was no longer in the bar, but in a mouldy grey bed... He had a pounding headache and his throat felt like sawdust...He clambered out of bed and woozily walked over to the mirror to see himself...
The face that stared back out of the mirror was one he had never seen before...it had stubble all round its chin, its hair was a tangled, greasy mess and its blue eyes had faded to the colour of grey...he looked down at the reflection's body. What canis saw made him yowl in horror...
The image in the mirror was wearing a mucky pink dress...torn and creased with specks of mud and blood spattered on it's surface. Canis quivered and the reflection shivered in unison...Canis transformed in self disgust...the pink dress tearing around him, and as a werewolf smashed through the window and jumped onto the next rooftop, pink strands of fabric trailing behind him, stuck between his claws, teeth and the horrid flower on the back of the dress clung to his tail like a limpet....
Hatita awoke in the ally only to watch a slightly hungover canis escape over the rooftops a pink dress trailing behind him. She managed a breif smile. Only to remember the previous days sadness as the numbness returned. She scanned the back of the Inn and though the windows looking out. The spell she had cast made the ally invisible from inside, she knew she was invisible. She continued looking up at the building - and then started. through one of the panes she could see Elariel. She sharply intook her breath as she watched him remove his shirt and fixed her eyes on the mess she had made of healing the wound. Ashamed she dragged her eyes away and looked down at the ground.
When Elariel finally awakened, Mya was perched back at the bowl of water, looking at him. He lay there a few moments, wondering what would happen if he tried to move. Finally he forced himself to sit up, expecting a lot of pain. There was some, but it had lessened considerably since the night before. He looked at the wound, it was still an angry red, the bruises still there, but the pain was less.
He smiled. "Good news, Mya I think I am going to live.." he managed to joke lightly, pausing for a moment as he looked at his bloody clothing on the floor. It was ruined he knew, but he was not going to leave it there for the attendant to find.
The sleep had done him good. He went to the window, to open it for Mya, when he felt as if he was being watched. He looked at the alley, curious. There was nothing there, no other windows, just the distracted traffic on the street in front. He felt a waver of magic, but his sleep fogged brain couldnt sort it out..
"Odd.." he sighed. His hand strayed to the wound, why he did not know...
"What an idiot I have been" thought Canis. He was sat against a red-brick chimney, delicately pulling bits of dress from between his teeth and claws...he hadn't noticed the flower on his tail...
He racked his brain, trying to remember last nights events..."I was dancing...singing...somebody pulled me inside again...dressed me up...what about between that...why was I outside?" He pondered for a few moments..."that woman...that healer did it!" He sprang up, and began racing back to the inn...the stubborn flower still clinging on...
